Veronica Novatnack is our February 2020 Referral Charity Program Winner!

Veronica chose St Jude Children’s Research Hospital to receive the $500 charity donation. This charity is important to her because she loves supporting causes that dedicate themselves to benefitting children in need. She also admires that they vow to help people even if they are unable to afford it financially.

Veronica is a self-proclaimed “Jersey Girl,” having lived there for 41 years. She worked in the billing department for Star Parts, a company that made linotype printing parts, in Hackensack, NJ. After moving to Florida in 1981, she spent 16 years in flooring sales with Bernard’s Carpet in Delray Beach. Today, Veronica spends her time gardening, doing work around the house, or getting lost in a good book.

Veronica met her husband, Anthony, while working at Star Parts. He came to work thereafter returning home from serving in the US Army. Unfortunately, Anthony recently passed away, August 1st, 2019. Together they had four children, the youngest of whom passed away 21 years ago. Veronica’s three surviving children live nearby, along with her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. With all of Veronica’s children living nearby, she has a lot of regular visitors.

St Jude Children’s Research Hospital

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of its founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family’s ability to pay.

Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Founder and entertainer Danny Thomas opened the doors to St. Jude in 1962 with the dream that “no child should die in the dawn of life.”

Unlike any other hospital, the majority of funding comes from individual contributions. And thanks to generous donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude.
