Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company
For many people, jewelry is a treasured possession. Whether it’s antique, new, artisan or a coveted designer brand, knowing there is protection if the worst should happen to a favorite piece of jewelry can be comforting for those who value these special items.
At Wiglesworth-Rindom Insurance Agency, we know just how valuable these items are to you, and we want to help you adequately protect them. That’s why we’ve partnered with Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, an insurer that’s been insuring jewelry since 1913, to help provide our valued customers with top-notch jewelry insurance.
Who Is Jewelers Mutual?
Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company has been in the jewelry insurance business since 1913. The Wisconsin-based company offers products and services to jewelry businesses and consumers alike. Scott Murphy has been the president and CEO of Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company since January 2015.
How Is Jewelers Mutual Group Rated?
Since 1913, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company has been the only company in the United States and Canada dedicated to personal jewelry insurance and jewelry business insurance.
Jewelers Mutual Insurance earned its 35th consecutive “A+ Superior” financial strength rating from AM Best, one of the world’s most respected insurance rating and information sources.
What Is Covered Under Jewelry Insurance?
Typically, you can get coverage for jewelry under a renters or homeowners insurance policy. However, these policies have limits, and the coverage isn’t usually enough to cover the total replacement cost of a fine piece of jewelry. Additionally, jewelry-specific riders added to homeowners policies also have limits and may not adequately cover the replacement cost.
How Does a Jewelers Mutual Claim Work?
Experiencing damage to or the loss of a valuable piece of jewelry can be devastating. The last thing anyone wants is a complicated claims process at this upsetting time. Filing a claim with Jewelers Mutual is a simple four-step process.
- Begin your claim. File your claim online or call us at 888-884-2424.
- Choose a jeweler. When you get our approval, contact a jeweler to repair or replace your item. We can help if you’re unsure of who to use.
- Pay your deductible. If your policy has a deductible, you should pay that amount to your selected jeweler. Your jeweler will then bill us for the rest. If you have a $0 deductible, and your replacement cost isn’t more than what the piece was insured for, you pay nothing.
- Insure your replacement jewelry. If your jewelry is replaced entirely, we’ll help you add it to your policy. If the jeweler repaired the piece, you don’t need to do anything.
Please note that you can only file a claim for a piece of jewelry listed on the Jewelers Mutual Insurance policy. To get started, you may need to submit documentation (e.g., an appraisal valuation or receipt showing purchase price of the piece to be insured). Contact Wiglesworth-Rindom Insurance Agency to learn more about how to ensure coverage of all your jewelry under your policy.
