Why Palm Beach County’s Food Bank?
Ben chose the Food Bank of Palm Beach County to receive the October $500 charity donation. He wants to support the Food Bank of PBC because he believes in their work and mission to alleviate hunger in Palm Beach County.
Meet Ben (and Zoey)
Ben grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, where he stayed until he joined the US Army. After completing his tour, he became an attorney before entering the construction industry as a Maryland-based Construction Company owner. Ben stayed as the company owner until he was ready to retire at the age of 80. While he lived in Maryland, Ben was fond of Florida after spending numerous vacations in the Sunshine State. So in 2008, Ben packed his bags and moved into Aberdeen Country Club in Boynton Beach.
Ben is the proud owner of a nine-month-old Goldendoodle puppy named Zoey — who has grown to be quite the handful. When he adopted Zoey, the veterinarian told Ben that she was only going to be 30 pounds. Zoey has already grown to weigh up to 50-pounds and could easily grow to be a 70-pound bundle of love.
The Palm Beach County Food Bank is working toward a healthy and food-secure Palm Beach County. We believe that every resident of Palm Beach County should have access to healthy, nutritious food.
